Providence Health & Services Postdoctoral Fellow in Portland, Oregon

Description:

Postdoctoral position in T-cell immunotherapy of cancer

A highly motivated and hardworking individual is sought to join the Laboratory of Antitumor T-cell Response as a Postdoctoral fellow at the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute (EACRI) at Providence Cancer Center.

The major goal of this lab is to develop new and more effective T-cell transfer immunotherapies to treat patients with metastatic epithelial cancers. Current projects include: 1) studying the immunobiology of the antitumor T-cell response in the microenvironment of human epithelial tumors with a focus on tumor antigen specificity and biological pathways perturbed in antitumor tumor-infiltrating T cells; 2) investigating strategies to broaden the antitumor T-cell response against human epithelial cancers; and 3) developing and evaluating novel gene engineering strategies to enhance the function of T cells for adoptive immunotherapy. The EACRI is fully committed to bench-to-bedside research. Promising findings can be directly translated into experimental therapies that can be used to treat patients with cancer here at Providence Cancer Center.

Applicants must have a PhD in immunology or related field. Responsibilities of the position include designing and executing experiments, data analysis, presentation of results, and training and education. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a larger team.
