Providence Health & Services Mental Health Associate - (0.8 FTE, Evenings) in Portland, Oregon
Providence is calling a Mental Health Associate (0.8 FTE, Evenings) to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.
In this position, you will:
Provide patient care under the direct supervison of the Registered Nurse (RN), with indirect supervision of mental health skills by an employed Mental Health Professional.
Provide hospital level and focused patient care, support, and milieu management for patients with behavioral health conditions and illness.
Observe and reports on patient conditions, changes, and collaborates with treatment team in developing treatment plans under the direction of an RN.
Be sensitive to needs of these patients and alert care team leaders of a change in status of the patients on the inpatient psychiatric unit.
Be responsible to act in accordance with our Mission and Core Values and work to consider our guiding principles of: "Know Me, Care for Me and Ease My Way" with each patient.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's degree (BA) - or-
A combination of at least 3 years of relevant work, education, training or experience in an intensive psychiatric residential or outpatient setting; -or-
1 year in an acute inpatient psychiatric facility
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) Certification and re-certification every 2 years
Current certification and Oregon State license to practice as a Certified Nursing Assistant 2 (CNA2) -or-
Completion of the basic CNA and CNA2 program within 1 year of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- CNA2 certification and 1 year of experience in an inpatient mental health setting
