Providence is calling a Credentialed Medical Assistant to Providence Medical Group - Specialties to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

Our Specialties Clinic provides care for cancer patients. We see patients on what may be the worst day of their lives. As such, we hire for compassion and empathy. Our patients love us, and it is important to us to invest in our staff so that we can continue to give the most compassionate care. We are looking for a certified MA that wants to work at the top of their scope and develop relationships with our patients and their families.

We have 4 teams focused on caring for our patients. Each team has 3 MA's, 3-4 Providers and a NP, and can see up to 120 patients per day. This position will either be supporting our Oncology/Hematology team assisting with procedures such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures or our Specialties team which could support a range of Providers/Surgeons including, Genetic Risk, Oral Head and Neck, or Thoracic Surgery.

In this position, you will:

  • Work closely with a team of staff including physicians and advanced level providers to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care.

  • Assist with exams and procedures, administer medications, and perform tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider.

CMA, Certified Medical Assistant, C.M.A.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Credentialing through a nationally recognized Medical Assistant program such as Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), National Healthcareer Association (NHA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), or National Association for Healthcare Professionals (NAHP)

  • If not currently credentialed, this position will require successfully obtaining Medical Assistant Certification within 60 days from date of hire

  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA-BLS) for the Healthcare Provider

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Some college

  • 6 months of recent experience working as a medical assistant
