Providence is calling a Clinical Informatics Training Operations Manager to Providence Health & Services in Portland, OR or Renton, WA.

We are seeking a Clinical Informatics Training Operations Manager to be responsible for the tactical and operational management of the Instructional Designer team. The Training Operations Managers essential purpose is to provide direction, leadership, and coaching to the individuals that are accountable for the design, development, production and administration of Clinical Informatics common core training offerings. The Training Operations Manager is responsible for assigning and balancing the work load of their team members, prioritizing and managing team projects, and for providing their direct reports with professional and performance development coaching and mentoring. Along with their co-managers, each Training Operations Manager will lead cross-team bodies of work such as Curriculum Design & Review teams, Epic Clinical Optimization programs, Credentialed Trainer Programs, Training Documentation Standards and Storage processes, HealthStream Catalog maintenance, and Training Technology Infrastructure Management.

In this position you will:

  • Build a team and provide responsive leadership; foster team work; develop skills and talents of team members; delegate, coordinate and motivate staff; conduct regular staff and team meetings; evaluate individual employee performance.

  • Work with Human Resources to attract, hire, train, motivate, retain, and develop a team of first-rate professionals.

  • Ensure Training Operations team members have the skills to successfully perform key tasks and meet the performance expectations of their roles.

  • Partner with co-managers and Sr Manager in the definition of roles and responsibilities, assessment of required skill mix, and acquisition of appropriate resources to successfully complete assigned projects.

  • Work with team to ensure Training Operations projects have defined deliverables, realistic time lines, and measurable outcomes.

  • Work collaboratively with other Training Operations team members, Clinical and Business informatics team members, Regional trainers and managers, and IS customers to develop and validate training strategies and identify the learning needs of target audiences.

  • Lead the development of and ensures compliance with curriculum design, development, production, and distribution policies and procedures.

  • Oversee the development of curriculum design and development standards, processes, and templates to ensure consistency in the approach to curriculum development across projects.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management and Development, Education, Business Administration, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

  • 5 years of education experience in an information services or training setting along with 3 or more years of management experience.

  • Healthcare information services operations and support.

  • Strong leadership skills, particularly in the areas of learning and education.

  • Ability to develop and coach staff.

  • Ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives.

  • Ability to accomplish work through others.

  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork with multidisciplinary groups

  • Budgeting and overall financial management skills.

  • Excellent Project Management skills.

  • Knowledge of current best practices and trends in training design, development and administration.

  • Learning Management System knowledge.

  • Proficiency with the MS-Office suite of products.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s degree in Organizational Management and Development, Behavioral Science, Education, Business Administration, Information Services or equivalent blend of education and experience.

  • Experience in Education in a large organization with multiple transformational implementations.

  • Experience standardizing complex and disparate processes.

  • Experience in process improvement methodology, change management, and operational improvement in a complex environment.

  • Education or professional educator Education or certification.
