Providence Health & Services Center for Ethics Program Manager in Portland, Oregon


Providence is calling a Center for Ethics Program Manager to Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, OR.

Providence Center for Health Care Ethics offers a variety of programs for physicians, nurses and other Providence employees. The Center's programs provide participants an opportunity to explore and examine the challenges in medical ethics.

In this position, you will:

  • Be accountable for managing all programs and services of theCenter and collaborating with the Regional Director and other staff indeveloping and sustaining educational programming, services, resources, andother ethics-related initiatives.

  • Along with departmental leadership, play a key role in coordinating departmental planningprocesses and establishing and implementing strategic goals and objectives.

  • Be responsible for promoting all ethics programs in collaboration withthe Coordinator of Ethics Services.

  • Supervise theCoordinator for Ethics Services and the administrative support staff and willcoordinate their work responsibilities.

  • Be responsible formanagement of the budget in collaboration with the Regional and SeniorDirectors.

  • Work closely with the Regional and SeniorDirectors to support the external funding efforts of the Ethics Center.

  • Facilitate cooperative initiatives between the Center andinternal and external entities.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s degree ineducation, healthcare administration, business or related field -and- 3years of related experience -OR-

  • Bachelor's degree with 6 years of experience

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience in health care ethics and intercultural issues

  • Teaching experience
