Providence Health & Services Biomedical Equipment Technician 2 (Willamette Falls & Milwaukie) in Portland, Oregon

Providence is calling a Biomedical Equipment Technician 2. This position will be based at Providence Willamette Falls Medical Center, and will also support Providence Milwaukie Hospital 50% of the time.

This is a Mon-Fri (days) work schedule. You will be scheduled out to each location for at least a week at a time.

In this position, you will:

  • Provide scheduled maintenance, repairs, and electrical safety inspections on patient care medical equipment under the general supervision of the biomedical services manager.

  • Be assigned work that varies in difficulty with some requiring specialized training.

  • Perform services on, but not limited to; life support equipment (i.e. anesthesia machines, defibrillators, ventilators, balloon pumps), integrated monitoring systems (i.e. physiological monitoring systems), key diagnostic and therapeutic devices (i.e. telemetry monitoring systems, surgical video systems) and other like devices at multiple locations within Providence.

  • Operate test equipment and other instrumentation in performing tests, inspections and repairs, and be responsible for accurately documenting these services on designated forms and within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Associate in Applied Science Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology or Electronics Technology. Equivalent military training will be accepted in lieu of the Associates degree.

  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare organization with patient care electronic medical devices at a circuit level

  • Current drivers license

  • Current Providence Biomedical Equipment Technician 1 with current Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AAMI) Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) Certification.

  • 2 years of experience in a healthcare organization with patient care electronic medical devices at a circuit level

  • Current drivers license
