Providence Health & Services Family and Birth Educator in Polson, Montana
Providence is calling a Family and Birth Educator (Labor & Delivery, Variable Shift, 0.0 FTE) to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, Montana. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all – especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Prepare, plan, and implement birth and family educational courses designed for pediatric, adolescent, and adult participants.
Utilize designated curriculum and follow appropriate teaching principles.
Prepare and organize for classes including preparing the teaching environment.
Demonstrate age-specific patient care considerations for the population served.
Required qualifications for this position include:
College degree in Sociology, or health related field
Current Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) to teach Infant Safety and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Certification as a Childbirth Educator (ICCE) within 12 months of hire
Maintain ICEA membership on an annual basis once ICCE is obtained
Basic computer skills
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Experience in teaching staff, patients, and family members
