Providence is calling a Registered Nurse – Care Management - Utilization Review Appeals to Providence Health & Services in Olympia, WA.
We are seeking a Registered Nurse – Care Management - Utilization Review Appeals to be responsible for facilitating the local appeal process for medical and experimental denials, performing medical reviews/ audits, analyze audit results and report’s findings to promote and improve processes, promoting coordination of care, achievement of consistent and/or expected clinical conditions, promoting patient advocacy, and efficient resource management.
In this position you will:
Facilitate the local appeal process for medical and experimental denials.
Perform medical reviews/ audits, analyze audit results and reports findings to promote and improve processes.
Demonstrate expertise in the application of the nursing process.
Assess patients for care management services after a referral has been made based on the Admission screening and referrals for potential patient issues.
Appropriately identify actual and potential care issues.
Develop and manage a coordinated plan of care to meet patient and/or family needs.
Assure that patients are placed on appropriate clinical pathway and protocols, individualizes patient care needs through consultation with the multidisciplinary team.
Monitor the patient/family progress towards achieving optimal functional status.
Required qualifications for this position include:
An Associate Degree in Nursing.
Three years of experience in nursing in Utilization Review, Home Health, Quality Management and/or
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Master’s degree in health care or business administration.
Experience in hospital and/ or integrated healthcare system.
Familiarity with Revenue Cycle processes.
