Providence Health & Services Bereavement Services Assistant - Hospice in Olympia, Washington
Providence is calling a Bereavement Services Assistant to Providence Sound Home Care and Hospice in Olympia, Washington. We are a community of caregivers delivering every day on our Mission to provide compassionate care that is accessible for all - especially those who are poor and vulnerable.
In this position you will:
Support the work of the Bereavement Services Program.
Participate in Hospice team meetings as needed and provide information , knowledge, and support regarding grief and loss issues and/or bereavement care.
Participate in bereavement care after the patient’s death, taking action and providing follow-up as determined necessary.
Facilitate support groups as needed for bereaved family members and community members.
Facilitate the planning of agency and community programs on grief and bereavement, holiday grief workshops, and annual memorial service for survivors, agency staff and volunteers.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s Degree in social work, counseling or related human services degree with a focus in counseling
State certification as a counselor or state licensure in the counseling field is required or must be obtained prior to providing program services
Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
Minimum of one (1) year exposure to the care of those experiencing grief and loss
One (1) year experience in the areas of interpersonal communications, group process development, and facilitation
Current driver’s license
Insured and reliable transportation
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Master's degree strongly preferred
