Providence Health & Services Nuclear Medicine Technologist in Newberg, Oregon
Providence is calling a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (0.8 FTE, Evenings) to Providence Newberg Medical Center in Newberg, OR.
In this position, you will:
Perform Nuclear Medicine examinations for diagnostic and therapeutic (site specific) purposes, while under the direction of a physician.
Prepare patient, prepare and administer prescribed dose of radioactive pharmaceuticals and non-radioactive pharmaceuticals, and perform calculations and manipulates data according to established parameters.
Assure proper preparation and/or ordering of radioactive material, calibrate equipment, assure appropriate quality control, monitor patients and perform other duties as assigned.
Candidate will spend an apportioned amount of their FTE rotating from one or more of the Portland Service Area (PSA) hospitals. The PSA hospials include: Providence St. Vincent Medical Center (PSTV), Providence Portland Medical Center (PPMC), and Providence Milwaukie Hospital (PMH).**
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
Current American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Nuclear medicine (ARRT)(N) or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) certification
New graduates must be board eligible and obtain permanent certification within 6 months of hire
New graduates must have OBMI temporary license upon hire and obtain permanent license within 6 months
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Computer skills and knowledge of keyboard functionality
Completion of pledge to Image Gently/Image Wisely within one month of hire
Ability to read, write and speak English
Expert knowledge of anatomy and physiology, imaging principles and practices, as well as the ability to obtain high-quality images
Adherence to appropriate professional credentialing practice standards
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- 2 years of clinical experience as Nuclear Medicine Technologist
