Providence Health & Services Quality and Excellence Nurse Specialist in Missoula, Montana


Providence is calling a Quality and Excellence Nurse Specialist (Learning Center, DayShift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, Montana. In this position you will:

  • Function as the Magnet Program Director by coordinating activities required to attain and maintain American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Magnet Status.

  • Provide education to nurses about Magnet Recognition, coordinate and facilitate Magnet Work Teams, and coordinate an assessment of Magnet readiness/gap analysis.

  • Design quality improvement processes, and w ork to improve and sustain improved performance.

  • Monitor and analyze performance through data collection and analysis.

  • Coordinate and integrate clinical performance improvement across committees and clinical specialties.

  • Collaborate with Clinical Informatics and Healthcare Informational Technology for quality related electronic health records (EHR) and reporting needs.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Montana State

  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)

  • Supervisory experience with strong organizational and interpersonal skills

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master’s degree
