Providence is calling an Assistant Registered Nurse Manager - Medical/Surgical (0.9 FTE, Nights) to Providence Milwaukie Hospital in Milwaukie , OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Assist and work directly with the nursing staff to ensure the delivery of quality, cost-effective care to patients.

  • Demonstrate a wide range of general nursing, unit-specific and management skills, including application of the nursing process.

  • Provide leadership for the operation of the nursing unit.

  • Lead and develop staff by role modeling professional practice and effective management skills.

  • Provide input into and help achieve unit goals.

  • Fulfill role expectations and principle duties of the Registered Nurse job description.

  • Support the philosophy of nursing and goals of the institution.

  • Be accountable to organize, prioritize, direct and evaluate the delivery of patient care on a specific unit for a given shift. In a composed and confident manner, role models and mentors staff toward independence in practice, accountability for outcomes and coordination of the multidisciplinary team.

  • Act as a clinical resource and advocate.

  • Create an atmosphere of confidence and organization in an environment with multiple stimuli.

  • Assume duties in the absence of the Nurse Manager.


Required q ualifications for this position include:

  • Licensure (RN) by the Oregon State Board of Nursing

  • Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification

  • 3 years of clinical nursing experience

Preferred q ualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • Certification in area of specialty

  • Proven supervisory experience

  • Experience in training and staff development
