Providence Health & Services Certified Medical Assistant in Lacey, Washington

Description:

Providence is calling a Certified Medical Assistant to the Outpatient Palliative Care Clinic in Lacey, WA.

This is a full time position (40 hours per week) and is eligible for benefits.

In this position you will:

  • Work closely with physicians and mid-level providers (i.e. nurse practitioners, etc.) to help ensure the delivery of high quality patient care.

  • Apply knowledge, skills, and experience in patient interactions that take place both in person and over the telephone.

  • Prepare exam rooms, check patients in and out, escort patients to consultation room.

  • Schedule appointments, obtain insurance authorizations, obtain referrals from PCP and to other specialties.

  • Monitor and complete patient record requests, mail paperwork to new patients, collect and record data.

  • Initiate medication refill requests.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent

  • Graduate of an accredited and certified Medical Assistant program

  • Eligible to be certified as a Health Care Assistant (HCA) in Washington State

  • Certified or able to be certified at levels A, C, and E

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Two years of community college or business school training

  • Work experience in a clinic setting

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (MA)
