The Registered Nurse (RN) provides professional, comprehensive nursing care for patients in a clinic setting. Accountable for the delivery of coordinated, safe, compassionate, therapeutic, evidence-based quality care to patients and families, based on individual physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and appropriate care strategies throughout the lifespan. Practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act in the state of employment, the American Nurses Association (ANA) Code of Ethics for Nurses, and the ANA scope and standards of practice.

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for the assessment, treatment and care of patients in populations and ages as assigned.

  • Access, analyze, customize, coordinate and communicate the patient’s plan of care and activities collaboratively with other members of the health care team. Families and or significant others will be included within the plan of care as appropriate.

  • Direct, delegate and manage the care delivered by colleagues and subordinates.

  • Perform all duties in a manner that respects and supports the family centered care model.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing

  • Current Registered Nurse license

  • Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse license by time of hire

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN)

  • One (1) year registered nurse experience in a clinic setting

  • Prior experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) such as EPIC

About Kodiak Island Medical Center

Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center (PKIMC) provides comprehensive health care to residents and visitors of Kodiak Island. This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, 2-room OR suite, 1 procedure room, four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds. In addition, the Elder House, PKIMC’s long term care facility, has 22 beds.

PKIMC provides an extensive array of inpatient and outpatient services, including emergency department, surgery, laboratory services, maternity, general medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, respiratory therapy, sleep studies, specialty clinics, diagnostic imaging services and pharmacy and is staffed by a mix of primary care physicians, surgeons and specialists who provide family practice, internal medicine, obstetrics, radiology and general practice.
