Providence Health & Services Pharmacist in Kodiak, Alaska


Providence is calling a Pharmacist to the Pharmacy at Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK.

The staff pharmacist develops, coordinates, and maintains clinical and distributive Pharmaceutical Care services in collaboration with other pharmacists, physicians, primary caregivers and patient/family.

In this position you will:

  • Follow established department policies and procedures to ensure all medications are dispensed accurately and on a timely basis.

  • Plan, assess, implement, evaluate, and document all aspects of pharmaceutical care.

  • Provide appropriate guidance and direction to other personnel to ensure the continuing quality of pharmacy services.

  • Communicate with team members to obtain or provide information and identify patient or other needs.

  • Develop and maintain public relations both internally with patients, physicians, and co-workers, and externally with visitors and community members.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college program.

  • Current Alaska Pharmacy License.

  • BLS or the ability to attain certification within ninety (90) days of date of hire.

  • Basic pharmaceutical knowledge and clinical skills, and be familiar with the basic functions of a hospital pharmacy.

  • Six (6) months experience in an applicable setting.
