Providence is calling a Clinical RN Supervisor (MedSurg/OB/ICU) to Providence Kodiak Island Medical Center in Kodiak, AK.

The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Patient Care Services Manager with the planning, coordination and supervision of the Med-Surgical Perinatal, L&D, Swing Beds and other department as assigned in accordance with Providence philosophy, objectives, policies, procedures and standards.

communication and leadership skills to good use on a variety of tasks like:

  • Work collaboratively with the Patient Care Services Manager to plan for, direct, supervise and evaluate all program operations and patient care delivery in Med-Surgical, Perinatal, L&D, Swing Beds and other department as assigned.

  • Manage personnel issues and needs of assigned areas and employees to include, assisting with recruitment, hiring selection, evaluating, coaching and terminations.

  • Exhibit the necessary skills to build effective teams by coaching, building trust, and training staff to work collaboratively and cohesively with other staff and/or team members in a variety of settings.

  • Assist with the coordination and collection of statistical and other information to support and develop current and/or new services while ensuring cost effective processes and development plans are in place.

  • Provide support to coworkers and customers while demonstrating service excellence by building positive interpersonal relations to ensure productive and positive relationships are maximized.

  • Evaluate own practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines, relevant statutes, rules and regulations.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing.

  • Associates Degree in Nursing.

  • Complete Perinatal and L&D training to include orientation within one (1) year.

  • Must complete required in-service annually as determined by institution/department.

  • Five (5) years Registered Nurse experience in an Acute Care and/or ED setting.

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.

  • BLS or the ability to attain certification within 90 days of date of hire.

  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP or the ability to attain within six (6) months of date of hire.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

  • Two (2) or more years of experience in Labor and Deliver.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory experience.

  • Current specialty certifications and AWHONN Fetal monitoring instructor certification.

This critical access hospital features 25 acute care beds, including four birthing suites, one OB triage room, and two ICU beds.
