Providence Health & Services Alcohol Safety Action Program (ASAP) Coordinator I in Kodiak, Alaska
Providence is calling a 0.5 FTE (20 hours/week) Program Coordinator - Alcohol Safety Action Program to Providence Health & Services in Kodiak, AK.
We are seeking a Coordinator to facilitate adjudicated adults and youth with alcohol/substance abuse problems to access treatment services in Kodiak and off-island. The A.S.A.P. coordinator also monitors cases as ordered by the court. The emphasis of A.S.A.P. is on the early identification of alcohol/substance abusers and linkage to services. The Kodiak A.S.A.P. coordinator will act as the liaison between the courts and treatment agencies to assure that the appropriate information is used to identify potential clients and that the appropriate referrals for treatment are made and monitored.
In this position you will:
Attend all A.S.A.P. related court hearings.
Process routine court referrals involving all misdemeanor alcohol and drug related cases including domestic violence, mental health and anger management court orders.
Provide alcohol/substance abuse referrals pertaining to education/assessment for treatment as condition of probation or reinstatement of driver’s license.
Monitor offender’s compliance with alcohol/drug education or treatment. Provide timely notification of non-compliance to the referring authority.
Provide quarterly and annual aggregate statistical reports to the grantor (State of Alaska).
For domestic violence, mental health and anger management clients, screen, refer cases to appropriate agency for integrated assessment and monitor client progress.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to obtain a State of Alaska Level I Substance Abuse Counselor Certification with in two (2) years from the date of hire.
Current Alaska driver’s license with a clean driving record and proof of current vehicle insurance.
Proof of documented formal training, education, and/or work experience to satisfy requirements towards a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor I.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two (2) year of experience in the behavioral health field in a State approved program.
Two (2) continuous years of abstinence and sobriety for those persons who acknowledge and addiction to alcohol or other drugs.
