Providence Health & Services Manager, Health Information Management in Issaquah, Washington
Providence is calling a Manager, Health Information Mangement (Health Information Management Dept, Day Shift, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Marianwood in Issaquah, Washington. In this position you will:
Provide supervision and direction to Health Information Management staff.
Maintain polices and procedures for other departments and other topics as requested.
Assign accurate ICD-9-CM and ICD-10 CM codes for reimbursement in a timely manner; supervises assistant in coding.
Participate in the survey process for the Department of Social and Health Services. Provide documentation as required and requested, as well as Network and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) access for Surveyors.
Prepare and approve destruction of medical records and secondary records.
Provide direction, information, polices and procedures of HIPAA.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities
Two years of prior Health Information Management (HIM) experience in a healthcare setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
College degree in Health Information Technology or related field preferred
Current Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential preferred
Three years in a long term care environment
