Providence is calling a Surgical Core Technician to Providence Health & Services in Everett, WA
This is a 1.0 FTE, day shift position.
The Surgical Core Technician is a leader of a SSNA team that maintains the physical environment of the OR and procedural areas (Cath lab, EP and IR) at the highest level of cleanliness, both from an appearance and infection control standpoint.This position is accountable for a smooth efficient case turnover by assisting the surgical team before, during, and after the surgical procedure.
Responsibilities include working with perioperative staff setting up and turning over surgical procedures, expediting the flow of instrumentation between processing and surgery and acquiring additional supplies and equipment.
In this position you will:
Complete case carts as prescribed by the Resource Maps
Recognize age and size of patient as a relevant factor, and applies knowledge in room preparation
Communicate with related departments to obtain supplies and equipment
Demonstrate excellent time management skills by facilitating room turnovers
Perform all pertinent tasks using aseptic technique
Assist with orientation of staff including Surgical Technicians and SSNAs
As a lead help will act as a resource for other Scrub Techs and SSNAs
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist training program – Surgical Technology
Demonstrated skills in handling instruments and equipment
Demonstrated experience in surgical practice, communicating, delegating or coordinating in a complex environment and providing educational instruction
Surgical Technologist State Registration
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two years’ experience as a surgical technologist or Core Technician in an acute care facility
Surgical Tech Certification
