Providence is calling a Patient Services Representative to Providence Everett Medical Center in Everett, WA.

We are seeking a Patient Services Representative to provide efficient, accurate, and effective customer focused communication services.

In this position you will:

  • Process pre-registration of new patients and verification of registration for established patients.

  • Obtain and verify insurance eligibility verification for behavioral health patients and obtain referral authorizations.

  • Provide routine and complex financial counseling to patients, research routine and complex billing issues, and collect and verify insurance authorization requirements to ensure payer requirements are met in a timely manner.

  • Effectively communicate with internal and external customers including medical providers, clinic staff, and insurance companies; maintain ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals and authorizations via computer system and/or manual systems.

  • Work collaboratively with the back office teams to ensure an exceptional patient experience.

  • Be expected to maintain confidentiality of records or medical center information at all times.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Three (3) plus years’ health care business office or insurance experience, with a minimum of one (1) year ambulatory practice experience.

  • Comprehensive working knowledge of third party insurance processes.

  • Working knowledge of front and back office functions.

  • Prior experience in liaison role for providers and staff.

  • Excellent telephone communication skills.

  • Computer experience with the ability to type 40 wpm and understand MS Outlook, Word and Excel.

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Training in coding with one (1) year experience with coding: ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS.

  • One (1) year patient third party eligibility verification experience on an automated patient accounts system.
