Providence Health & Services Infection Preventionist in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling an Infection Preventionist (0.9, Days) to work for the Infection Prevention Department at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett, Washington.
This position supports infection prevention and control through surveillance and investigation of infections, development and review of infection control policies and procedures, consultation, research, and education activities. The IP assists the hospital in complying with accreditation requirements and local, state, and federal guidelines, standards, and regulations
In this position you will:
Develop and implement standards that control and lower the risk of endemic and epidemic infectious processes for patients, visitors, and staff
Facilitate the development of departmental and interdepartmental plans to control emerging pathogens
Monitor and document patients with nonsocomial infections, report any cluster of infections or single isolates of unusual strains to the Coordinator or Manager
Enhance the quality of patient care through the establishment of fiscally responsible infection control and employee health practices which promote the well being and productivity of all medical center personnel
Assure communicable diseases are reported to Public Health
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent.
3 years healthcare experience.
Certification in Infection Control within 1 year of hire
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field.
Strong clinical background and ability to understand documentation in the context of an electronic health record.
1 years in day-to-day experience in Infection Prevention.
Certification in Infection Control.
