Providence Health & Services Clinical Documentation Specialist in Everett, Washington
Providence is calling a Clinical Documentation Specialist to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, in Everett, WA.
The clinical documentation specialist performs chart reviews to facilitate accurate and compliant documentation of the patient’s severity of illness.
In this position you will:
Articulate clear, compliant documentation queries to physicians, and recognize clinical documentation opportunities for improvement
Communicate in a timely and appropriate fashion, both verbally and in writing, with physicians; follow-up on pending queries, and update Guide worksheets as needed
Where so assigned, implement Compliant Documentation Program for MS-DRG and AP-DRG coding and payment systems for all payers as appropriate; work with physicians and coders to successfully implement the CDMP program on units
Complete monthly reconciliation of records; collaborate with HIM Coding team to ensure accuracy of the medical records and resolution of any discrepancies found
Participate in monthly Task Force Meetings with HIM Coders and rotation as a Co-Chair to lead the meeting
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing (BSN)
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State
Five (5) years experience as an RN in an acute care setting
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Experience with CDMP (Compliance Documentation Management Program)
ICU, CCU, or Medical/Surgical hospital experience
Prior experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) such as EPIC
Prior experience using Microsoft Office Suite
