Providence Health & Services Advocate Specialist in Everett, Washington


Providence is calling an AdvocateSpecialist to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett in Everett, WA.

We are looking for an Advocate

Specialist to provide advocacy, support, information and referrals for adult

and child victims and the families who are referred by PESAC staff, Child

Protective Services, law enforcement agencies and other community

professionals. This is a Full Time / DayShift position, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm with some occasional weekend,holiday or on call shift support.

In this position you will:

  • Provide hotline advocacy services by responding toanswering service in a timely manner; provides crisis intervention,emotional support, information, and resources to clients accessing thecrisis line.

  • Accompany victims during ED interview, as well as tolaw enforcement interviews, prosecution interviews, and other appointmentsas requested by the victim.

  • Compile and provide a case specific packet ofinformation and referrals to each client at initial contact.

  • Build strong community partnerships with countywideagencies working with victims of crime.

  • Participate in outreach and educational opportunitiesto inform the public about PICAA services.

  • Develop and implement appropriate group curriculum,contacts potential clients in a timely manner; maintain necessarydocumentation on group participants.

  • Provide support to volunteer advocates in the event ofquestions or necessary debriefing; cover colposcopic exams as necessary.

  • Maintain confidentiality of records or medical centerinformation at all times.

  • Maintain full knowledge of HIPAA regulations.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor Degree - Social Sciences or related field

  • Recent experience working with adult and child victims and with group facilitation

  • Group facilitation

  • Advocacy with victims of all ages

Providence Intervention Center for Assault and Abuse

(PICAA) is a service of Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. PICAA provides medical, advocacy and

counseling services and evaluations to adult and child victims of sexual and

physical abuse (including the incarcerated population- PREA) in Snohomish


PICAA is housed in DAWSON PLACE Child Advocacy Center in

Everett. This Center provides a team of professionals to help survivors and

their families through an often difficult process. Under the supervision of the

program manager the Therapist provides therapy to adults 21 and older for one

hour once a week per client. To qualify

for services clients will have been victims of sexual assault and/or child

sexual abuse.
