Providence Health & Services Laboratory Manager – Rural hospitals in Colville, Washington
Providence is calling a Lab Manager to Mount Carmel Hospitalin Colville, WA and St. Joseph in Chewehal, WA.
Located in Colville, WA, Mount Carmel Hospital is a 25-bed
critical access hospital. St. Joseph’s Hospital is also a critical access
hospital and is located Just twenty-three miles to the south in Chewelah,
WA. Under the general direction of the regional Director of Hospital
Laboratories, the Laboratory Manager is responsible for the day-to-day
operations of both laboratories and will work closely with the Laboratory
Medical Director on patient care and regulatory issues. The
Laboratory Manager provides the first line of contact for the division
supervisors and lab staff.

In this position you will:
Develop solutions, procedures, or systems to insure thedelivery of timely and accurate lab reports and quality patient care.
Be directly responsible for all actions performed byphlebotomy, histology assistants, testing personnel and secretaries including:awareness of each one’s background, training, certification, and ability;familiarity with all procedures and equipment used to procure and process clinicalspecimens; familiarity with systems used to disseminate and store patient testresults.
Foster and encourage strong positive working relationshipsbetween supervisors and pathologist. Provides resources and coaching forsupervisors as needed.
Assist in recruiting efforts, interviews, and candidateselection, including preparation of necessary documents for Stewardshipcommittee.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in health science
MT (ASCP) or other national certification
3 years of management experience
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
5 years of laboratory experience in a high complexity(preferably hospital-based) laboratory
