Providence Health & Services Respiratory Care Practitioner - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit ( Per Diem - Variable Shift ) in Burbank, California

Providence is calling a per diem, variable shift Respiratory Care Practitioner for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.

In this position you will:

  • Provide respiratory therapy to patients as ordered by physicians according to established standards and practices.

  • Set up equipment such as High Flow Nasal Cannula, Bubble CPAP and other oxygen devices.

  • Administer and chart respiratory treatment as ordered by the physician.

  • Provide and monitor conventional ventilation, high frequency ventilation, and non-invasive ventilation to infants in the NICU by protocol.

  • Perform endotracheal intubation on the neonate.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Graduate of a COARC (Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care) -Accredited Respiratory Care Program

  • Licensed in Respiratory Care in the State of California

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for all new grad Respiratory Therapist

  • Note: Respiratory Therapist credentialed prior to 1/1/15 are grandfathered as Certified Respiratory Therapist [CRT]

  • Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association

  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS ) certification sponsored by the American Heart Association

  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) certification sponsored by the American Heart Association

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • RRT is preferred for all therapists

  • Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialist ( NPS )

  • 5 years Respiratory Therapy experience
