Providence is calling a Mother Baby Registered Nurse ( per diem / day shift ) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
Our Women’s Services features Southern California’s most advanced diagnostic technology, maternity suites and neonatal intensive care unit ( NICU ). Every year, nearly 2,500 babies are born at Providence Saint Joseph and hundreds of high-risk infants are cared for in the facility’s renowned NICU. Features include a 24/7 anesthesia service, in-house perinatology, a NICU and special care nursery, and our Women’s Pavilion with highly advanced maternity suites.

In this position you will:
Implement and maintain established department, unit, administrative, and clinical policies/procedures for patient care, safety, and infection control.
Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessment with attention to each patient's physical, emotional, psychosocial and spiritual needs.
Collaborate and communicate with other personnel to maintain good employee relations, meet interdepartmental objectives, and optimize patient care.
Provide direction to team members to coordinate care of assigned patients and problem-solve patient care issues during the shift.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California Registered Nurse ( RN ) License
1 years of RN experience in acute care setting
NRP required upon hire for licensed staff in L&D, NICU, Nursery, Special Care Nursery. NRP required within 90 days from date of hire/transfer for licensed staff in Postpartum. New graduates for L&D and Postpartum have 90 days from date of hire/transfer to complete this requirement.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Military Training Network (MTN) upon hire.
All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 3 years of hire.
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing ( BSN )
1-2 years of experience in Post-Partum/Newborn Nursery
