Providence is calling a Diabetes Educator - Registered Nurse ( Part Time / Day Shift ) to Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, CA.
In this position you will:
Provide health care instructions to patient and family. Demonstrate procedures and testing materials
Help patients develop their own health program
Maintain established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program
Develop, implement, evaluate and revise educational programs to meet the continuing educational needs of employees in the workplace
Required qualifications for this position include:
Current California Registered Nurse License
Current Basic Life Support Certificationfor Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association
Certified Diabetes Educator ( CDE )
Working knowledge of diabetes patient care management and principles of adult education
2 years of diabetic experience with inpatients and outpatients
Demonstrated ability to teach individuals and groups in the management of diabetes
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing ( BSN )
