Providence Health & Services Supervisor, Service Desk in Beaverton, Oregon

Providence is calling a Supervisor, Service Desk to Providence Health & Services in Beaverton, OR.

We are seeking a Supervisor to be responsible for the day-to-day activities of his or her direct reports, and oversee the integration and operational maintenance of support processes for one or more ministries within PHS.

In this position you will:

  • Gather requirements and make recommendations for the on boarding and integrating support processes from multiple ministries.

  • Be responsible for staff development and performance of Technical support specialists.

  • Participate in cross-functional teams within Information Services and throughout the health system across all ministries.

  • Under direction of the service desk manager, assists with hiring, training, and development of staff to ensure the department has both the technical and organizational skills to effectively maintain operations and support as measured by meeting the established service levels; conducts and oversees evaluations and establishes performance goals of the staff; resolves disciplinary problems, grievances, and other sensitive personnel matters.

  • Build and strengthen the service desk team by providing transparent support to customers in multiple geographies.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Management, Information Services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to supervise information services staff, preferably in a healthcare setting, and 3 years or more of progressively responsible experience in an IS role.

  • Experience in information services within a distributed or federated environment.

  • Knowledge of current best practices in areas of ITIL, SDI, or HDI.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Experience working within a service delivery team within a distributed health delivery system.

  • ITIL, HDI, SDI, or Six Sigma certifications.
