Providence is calling a Healthcare Services Technician - Claims to Providence Health Plan in Beaverton, OR.

In this position, you will:

  • Be responsible for providing services for and improving the quality and productivity of the Healthcare Services department in one or more of the core functional areas of claims, concurrent review, prior authorization, appeals, medical audit, and/or training.

  • Utilize your knowledge of claims processing and provider contracts in reviewing provider appeals

  • Provide technical and analytical support and/or organize and coordinate department support activities. Activities may include training development, process documentation, performance improvement, and measuring service and/or program outcomes against policies, standards, and objectives.

  • Use a global approach to assure core activities and functional areas are integrated and linked to achieve the highest outcomes for our customers. This approach will result in improved quality of care and service, and higher customer and employee satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Current state registration, license, or certification as appropriate to education

  • 3 years of experience in health insurance

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Undergraduate degree -or- equivalent work experience (5 years in related field)

  • Knowledge and/or experience in utilization management, such as case management, concurrent review, prior authorization, medical audit, appeals or delegation

  • 2 years of additional experience in a business environment
