Providence Health & Services Enterprise Risk Management Director in Beaverton, Oregon


Providence is calling an Enterprise Risk Management Director to Providence Health Plan in Beaverton, OR.

In this position you will:

  • Be responsible for the leadership, innovation, governance, and management necessary to identify, evaluate, mitigate and monitor Providence Health Plans(PHP) operational and strategic risks.

  • Be charged with continuing to develop Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) tools and practices to analyze and report on enterprise risks and to manage those risks according to PHP's ERM framework.

  • Ensure that PHP's risk management policies and strategies are in compliance with applicable regulations, rating agency standards and strategic imperatives of the organization.

  • Regularly report on ERM activities and associated risks to the Chief Risk and Compliance Officer, ERM Committee, Administrative Council and the Health Plan Board.

  • Hold responsibility for leading and coordinating the annual Own Risk Solvency Assessment (ORSA) compliance and reporting process in line with State requirements.


Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelors degree in healthcare administration, business administration, accounting, finance or related field

  • 8 years of risk management and/or regulatory compliance experience

  • 5 years of experience managing ERM efforts and/or relevant Internal Audit experience with demonstrated understanding of risk management, risk modeling, compliance and risk reporting systems

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's degree

  • 10 years of risk management and/or regulatory compliance experience

  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of health insurance, managed care and government programs compliance/regulatory matters
