Providence Health & Services RN Staff Radiology in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a RN Staff Radiology to the Radiology Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
The Registered Nurse will be accountable for the delivery and supervision of safe, quality care that is individualized for their assigned patients and follows the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act (assessment, planning implementation, evaluation).
In this position you will:
Possess knowledge of developmental needs and competent in the assessment and treatment as it relates to the age of the patient population served.
Assist physicians in performing and completing therapeutic cardiovascular procedures using a variety of specialized equipment, monitors, devices and supplies.
Be knowledgeable in cardiac and vascular procedural practice as well as emergency techniques/protocol. Assist with pre, intra, and post procedure monitoring per hospital protocol.
Collaborate with the patient, family and members of the healthcare team; develop, documents, implement and monitor an individualized plan of care which reflects a standard of care based on best practice and evidence-based medicine.
Collaborate with team members, the patient, the patient’s family and others as appropriate in the development of a proactive discharge plan.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of Nursing
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska
Variable schedule to meet departmental needs
Basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology, basic EKG analysis and emergency protocols
Ability to deal tactfully and compassionately with patients/families/significant others under potentially stressful conditions
Ability to communicate effectively and constructively with staff, physicians, management and units
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, and work with a variety of health unit teams
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Two (2) years experience in critical care nursing/emergency nursing, unless hired as a fellow
