Providence Health & Services RN Staff - Radiation Oncology in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse to the Radiation Oncology Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
In this position you will:
Be accountable for the delivery of quality care to patients and families, according to the individualized needs of the patient and following the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act
Be responsible for the assessment, treatment, and care for patients of all ages including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric, as applicable
Access and analyze patient information and history with an understanding of the cognitive, physical, emotional/psychosocial, spiritual, and chronological maturation process
Accept and promote professional development as an integral part of nursing practice
Coordinates patient care activities with other members of the health care team in a collegial relationship
Directs and coordinates the care given by Patient Care Technicians, Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), students, volunteers, and ancillary personnel
Performs all duties in a manner that supports team concept, collegial, collaborative caring, and respectful, reflecting the philosophy of the Department of Nursing and the Sisters of Providence Mission
Performs as a senior OCN resourse, able to develop policies and procedures that will aid the operation of the Radiation oncology department
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
All Registered Nurses without a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing must obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or higher within 3 years of hire
A RN with 20 years of RN experience will not be required to obtain a BSN
Licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska.
BLS required at time of hire. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 1 year of hire. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider card must be from the following authorized governing bodies: American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Military Training Network (MTN) upon hire
Twelve (12) months acute care experience working with the patient population similar to department of hire or completion of the specialty residency located at that facility.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors of Nursing degree (BSN)
National certification in area of specialty
