As a registered nurse in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) you will be part of a unique team who treats staff AND patients as part of the family; working together to provide quality nursing care. These are the nurses who take care of patients too sick to stay on a hospital floor (med/surg) but not sick enough to be in the intensive care unit (ICU). With 36 beds in PCU, and overall 440 beds; Providence Alaska Medical Center is the largest hospital in Alaska.
In this position you will:
Assess, treat, and care for patients from a variety of age groups and populations
Direct, delegate, and manage the care delivered by colleagues and teams of care.
Communicate with the health care team, patients, and families on plans of care.
Perform all duties in a manner that respects and supports the family centered care model.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Current State of Alaska Registered Nurse license by date of hire.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN).
One (1) year experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute environment.
Prior experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) such as EPIC.
Prior experience using Microsoft Office Suite.
