Providence is calling a Primary Care Registered Nurse to Providence Extended Care in Anchorage, AK.
Are you searching for an exciting opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others? Providence Extended Care is looking for a fantastic Primary Care Nurse (PCN) who will work as a collaborative member of a cottage nursing team. The Primary Care Nurse will be in charge of resident care for a specific group of residents, to include, being the point of contact for resident information, supervision of team members, update care plan as changes take place and at least quarterly, and coordinate referrals to other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. You will provide quality care when it comes to administering medications and treatments, and provide direct licensed nursing care to a group of residents on a given shift. You will partner closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, C.N.A.s, of resident changes of condition and receive orders thereafter. You have the opportunity to collaborate with all other healthcare professionals as needed for service for appropriate residents. We promote a resident directed care model in the cottage setting at extended care, utilizing every aspect of the environment/care model to promote quality of life and a sense of belonging.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
Current Alaska Registered Nurse license.
Proficiency in medication administration.
Ability to clearly articulate and communicate ideas verbally and in writing.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Six (6) months nursing experience in a health care facility (acute care, long term care, rehabilitation center.)
