Providence Health & Services Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intervention/Observation (On Call, Variable) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Registered Nurse to the Cardiovascular Intervention/Observation Unit at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
The nurse in this role will assist physicians in performing and competing therapeutic cardiovascular procedures using a variety of specialized equipment, monitors, devices and supplies. They will have knowledge in cardiac and vascular procedural practice, as well as emergency techniques/protocols. They will assist with pre, intra, and post procedure monitoring per hospital protocol.
This is an on-call, variable shift position.
In this position you will:
Provide professional nursing care to patients
Services typically include treatment of CHF, post-CABG/valve surgeries, diagnostic and interventional procedures, arrhythmias, and acute respiratory conditions
Work in a challenging environment providing critical care at varying acuity levels
Be accountable for the delivery and supervision of safe, quality care that is individualized for the assigned patients and follow the nursing process in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act (assessment, planning implementation, evaluation)
Perform all duties in a manner that respects and supports the family centered care model
Required qualifications for this position include:
Must be a graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska at time of hire
Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, invasive cardiovascular pressures, basic EKG analysis and emergency protocols.
Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks, and work with a variety of health unit teams.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Two years experience in critical care nursing and/or emergency nursing, unless hired as a Fellow.
