Providence Health & Services Operating Room Assistant I - 1.0 FTE Days in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling an Operating Room Assistant I (Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.
The Operating Room Assistant I will provide general support to the professional staff in the operating suites. Activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment that facilitates patient focused care.
In this position you will:
Handle equipment and supplies, clean and decontaminate Operating Rooms and equipment, and operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of technical equipment, and restock supplies.
Anticipate the equipment and supply needs of the Nursing staff, initiates actions to expedite surgical procedures.
Appropriately identify and safely transport patients to and from Surgical Services according to procedure.
Place surgical equipment in the Operating Rooms in the correct location.
Perform first case room wipedown daily prior to start of cases, decontamination between cases, and terminally clean the OR’s at the end of the day.
Organize and restock storage areas within the Operating Room.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High School diploma or equivalent
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 weeks of hire
Ability to visually distinguish colors
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program
