Providence Health & Services Operating Room Assistant I - 1.0 FTE Days in Anchorage, Alaska

Providence is calling an Operating Room Assistant I (Days, 1.0 FTE) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, Alaska.

The Operating Room Assistant I will provide general support to the professional staff in the operating suites. Activities focus on maintaining a safe, hazard free, clean environment that facilitates patient focused care.

In this position you will:

  • Handle equipment and supplies, clean and decontaminate Operating Rooms and equipment, and operate and perform routine maintenance on a variety of technical equipment, and restock supplies.

  • Anticipate the equipment and supply needs of the Nursing staff, initiates actions to expedite surgical procedures.

  • Appropriately identify and safely transport patients to and from Surgical Services according to procedure.

  • Place surgical equipment in the Operating Rooms in the correct location.

  • Perform first case room wipedown daily prior to start of cases, decontamination between cases, and terminally clean the OR’s at the end of the day.

  • Organize and restock storage areas within the Operating Room.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 6 weeks of hire

  • Ability to visually distinguish colors

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program
