Providence Health & Services Manager, Clinical Informatics Ambulatory in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Manager, Clinical Informatics to Providence Health & Services in Anchorage, AK.
We are seeking a Manager, Clinical Informatics to be accountable for the assessment, identification, consultation and coordination of ministry-specific clinical informatics needs across the continuum that will support clinical practice. The Manager is accountable for overseeing and managing employee development plans in support of business objectives and patient care initiatives.
In this position you will:
Be responsible for facilitation, coordination, advocacy, and maintenance of information systems related to clinical documentation and patient care delivery.
Provide strategic plans and solutions to ministry management in the areas of process improvement, information systems and data management.
Under direction of the Senior Manager Clinical Informatics or Regional Informatics Leader, assists with hiring, training, and development of staff to ensure the department has both the technical and organizational skills to effectively maintain operations and support as measured by meeting the established service levels.
Demonstrate the ability to coordinate and facilitate teamwork with interdisciplinary groups – the candidate will be sought after to facilitate cross-departmental strategy sessions and process improvement initiatives.
Actively participate in optimizing processes and offers suggestions for new approaches to enhance customer service. Standardizes processes to provide exceptional customer service while reducing costs. Identifies and eliminates non-value added processes.
Help manage expenditures for clinical informatics services for the ministry.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in a clinical discipline, computer science, business management, information services or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Enrollment in a Bachelor’s degree with degree obtained within 2 years is required.
3 years of supervisory experience in an information services or healthcare setting and 6 years total relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience.
Active license or certification to practice as a clinician is required if applicable (Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, Dietitian, Clinical Social Worker, Respiratory Therapist).
Knowledge of current best practices in clinical informatics including clinical processes and workflows.
Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise individuals.
Proficiency with the MS-Office suite of products.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- Informatics certifications or credentialing is preferred, and may be equivalent for up to 2 years experience for this position at the hiring manager’s discretion.
