Providence is calling a Primary Care Licensed Practical Nurse to the Deshka Cottage at Providence Extended Care in Anchorage, AK.

Our Primary Care Nurses (PCN) work as collaborative members of a cottage nursing team who supervise and provide excellent care for a specific group of residents. You will focus on building relationships with patients in your daily job duties such as administering medications/treatments, assisting with care/interventions, life engagement, supervision of team members, monitoring implementation of the care plan, and coordinating referrals to other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team. You are making a difference when you effectively communicate and ease the way for residents and their families. Your role is crucial when working with C.N.A.s on shift reports so team members are updated on what care has been provided. You have the opportunity to join forces and learn from other healthcare professionals to provide the best service possible for residents. The PCN promotes a resident directed care model in the cottage setting, utilizing every aspect of the environment/care model to promote quality of life and a sense of belonging.

Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduate of an accredited/approved school of nursing as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Current license as a Practical Nurse in the State of Alaska.
Proficiency in medication administration.
Ability to clearly articulate and communicate ideas verbally and in writing.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Six (6) months nursing experience in a health care facility, acute care, long term care or rehabilitation center.
Acquired skill or ability to become proficient in IV therapy within scope of practice according to licensure.
