Providence Health & Services Lead Cook (1.0 FTE, Evening) in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Lead Cook to the Food and Nutrition Department at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
Under general supervision the Food and Nutrition Services Cook – Lead oversees daily production activities in the main kitchen.
In this position you will:
Verify food is correctly produced and presented for the patient Room Service program, cafeteria, catering and coffee courts at PAMC.
Assist in providing supervision to create and maintain a positive working environment which promotes teamwork and customer satisfaction.
Work as a "Lead", having both line serving and back of the house cooking responsibilities, as well as lead responsibilities for making daily decision regarding production and line service.
Assign work responsibilities to the production team(s) as necessary.
Assist with administrative duties such as forecasting, reviewing daily recipes and quantities and organizing the cooking components of the production process with the production staff.
Provide kitchen supervision to include scheduling coverage, education, training, resolving issues and providing daily positive leadership.
Required qualifications for this position include:
High school degree or equivalent.
Must have two years of progressively responsible Food and Nutrition Services experience.
At least one year in a team mentoring or lead role required.
Should be familiar with the fundamental operation of a hospital kitchen and be able to communicate effectively.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
Two years college in Food and Nutrition.
Dietary Managers Certificate.
