Providence Health & Services Family Therapist - Mental Health Unit in Anchorage, Alaska
Providence is calling a Family Therapist to the Mental Health Unit at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.
The Family Therapist will be designated primary responsibility for facilitating family therapy sessions, family home contract meetings, psycho-education groups for families and family exit interviews with patients and family on the adolescent and adult mental health units.
In this position you will:
Provide group, and individual therapy and counseling interventions to adolescent/adult patients.
Provide psycho-education and family support groups to adolescent/adult patients and families.
Participate in treatment planning meetings and assist treatment team in identifying clinical problems for individual patients and their families.
Facilitate/co-facilitate group and individual therapy sessions.
Facilitate conferences, training sessions, and lectures to community mental health personnel to assist in expanding community understanding of mental and emotional problems as time allows.
Continuously monitor all family and patient progress in treatment and outcome as a result of therapeutic interventions.
Required qualifications for this position include:
Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, Counseling Psychology, or Social Work.
Ability to establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of patients, families, and persons contacted in the course of work.
Strong interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated experience in family, group, and individual therapy.
Knowledge of principles and techniques of mental health counseling and techniques of observing and assessing behavior.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- State of Alaska Licensure in one of the following: LPA, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT.
